Riverina School was the first School in Pakuranga
opening on 1 February 1961 with 134 students that day. The first student enrolled was Lindsey
Draper, Form 1, (Year 7) now sadly deceased. There were 195 students by the end of that year. There were five teachers, including the
Headmaster, Colin Campbell.

Above: We had wonderful music from the accordion as people walked into the school hall. Many people had memories of the accordion being played in the 1960s at Riverina School.
