Megan Barry
Megan Barry attended Riverina School from 1995 - 2001, with very active participation from her entire family. She went on to Pakuranga Intermediate and Macleans College. After completing Year 13, Megan attended Camp in Chicago, America, caring for adults and children with cerebral palsy and other genetic disorders. This experience has decided her on becoming a nurse, so she enrolled at MIT for a degree in Nursing and Health Studies and has recently finished her first year in 2010. Megan moves into the second year of her studies this year. (February 2011)
Laura Bell
Laura attended Riverina School from 1995 - 2001, participating fully in school life, especially as a School Councillor in Year 6. She went on to Farm Cove Intermediate, Selwyn College, and worked full time in 2008. She now lives in Hamilton and is in her second year studying at Waikato University working towards a BSc, majoring in Biochemistry. (February 2011)
Amber Francis
Amber attended Riverina School from 1997 – 2002. She actively participated in Riverina School life by helping to paint murals, being a wet day and tray monitor. Since leaving Edgewater College Amber has completed a Certificate in Health Care Support at AUT and is currently in her first semester of a Bachelor of Nursing at MIT. Through her learning she hopes to be able to help others and travel the world. (February 2011)
Amber has now successfully completed the first year of her bachelor of Nursing at MIT. She has just started back for the second year. She is enjoying the course. (March 2012)
Edward Niddrie
Edward attended Riverina School from 2001 – 2003 participating fully in school life being a School Councillor and Computer Monitor in Year 6. He then moved on to Pakuranga Intermediate and then Edgewater College. Edward has been accepted at Unitec to do a Bachelor of Architecture. When completed he hopes to further his qualifications with a Master of Architecture before practising as a trained Architect. (February 2011)
Edward has now completed his first year at Unitec doing a Bachelor of Architecture. He has just started back for his second year of his three year course. (March 2012)
Lusia Monolagi
Lusia attended Riverina School from 1995 – 2001 before moving on to Pakuranga Intermediate and Edgewater College. She has been accepted at MIT to do a Bachelor of Nursing which is 3 years of full time study. Lusia hopes to be a role model for young Pacific Islanders, inspiring and motivating them to do everything to the best of their ability. (February 2011)
Lusia completed the first year of her MIT bachelor of Nursing course. She has just started back in the second year of this 3 year course. (March 2012)
Raj Mahimkar
Raj attended Riverina School from 2002 – 2003 before moving on to Bucklands Beach Intermediate and Pakuranga College. He is starting a Bachelor of Science this year, specializing in Biomedicine at the University of Auckland. Raj also has plans to qualify as a St John’s Ambulance Officer / Paramedic. When he qualifies he would like to volunteer at Riverina School – which would be a great learning opportunity for our kids! (February 2011)
Raj has completed Year 1 of his Bio Science course. He found the first year a bit of a challenge! He is now back studying Year 2 of this three year course. (March 2012)
Steven Steyl
Steven attended Riverina School from 2002 – 2003, after which he attended Pakuranga Intermediate and Edgewater College, where he was Head Boy! This year he is taking a course at Auckland University in Law and Ethics (conjoint LLB/BA), which will take 5 years to complete. Steven has a passion for his community and believes that his studies will help him to give something back. (February 2011)
Steven has now completed his first year successfully, and this year is continuing his conjoint Law/Art degree. So far he is finding it all very interesting. (March, 2012)
