There are three Resource Teachers of Literacy (RTLits) based at the Riverina School Literacy Centre. We have a very specialised role in supporting literacy across the schools in our area.
Riverina School is the host school for our service.

What do we do?
We take referrals from approximately 30 schools in the local area and provide short, intensive, supplementary support to those learners with the highest literacy needs across the cluster. We work primarily with learners who are well below the standard.
Students referred to the RTLit service should be those with the highest literacy needs in your school who have not progressed as a result of school based interventions. Unfortunately we are unable to accept repeat referrals or referrals for students who require special education support.
Our goal is for students to make and maintain accelerated literacy progress and be able to work at or near the appropriate standard enabling them to benefit from effective classroom teaching.
RTLit offer flexible support depending on the needs of the learner. We can work directly, either one-on-one or in small groups, or indirectly by supporting and collaborating with the classroom teacher. Usually we utilise a combination of approaches. We can offer up to approximately 45 sessions of support.
Please feel free to get in touch with any of us if you have any queries.
