Transition to School
We warmly invite you
to our“Transition to School” programme which runs each Friday afternoon
at 2.00pm. The aim is to develop the home/school partnership during
this informative afternoon at Riverina School.
Starting school is a
significant event in your family life, both for you and your child. It
is an exciting time but there can also be uncertainties and concerns,
especially if it is your first child. Developing strong relationships
between home and school is crucial in establishing a good foundation for
your child's journey through school. A Transition to School programme
can assist in achieving a positive start to school.
While
our Transition to School programme is primarily intended to help
parents understand the learning that takes place socially and
academically at school, particularly in the important early years, there
is much to be learned from parents about what children already know
when they enter school.
The Transition to School session
will be an opportunity to see how we teach, Reading, Writing and Maths.
there will be time to discuss how families can help prepare children at
home and also give you the opportunity to ask any questions, or address
any queries you may have.This
term we will run two sessions with the same format, focusing on an area
of the school curriculum. Hopefully this will mean you can attend one
these sessions
