Kia Ora to all our Riverina whanau! Cindy Denis here, oh… the ‘s’ in my surname is silent, it’s French :) . I’ve been at Riverina school for ages, and what keeps me excited about being here is my connection with families and my desire to see all the smiles in my class, especially when they take steps forward in their learning. Every day is a new chance to inspire my students to take one more step. My husband and I came to New Zealand from Cape Town, South Africa in 2004 and now call New Zealand our home. We have 2 teenage girls who keep us on our toes and most weekends we are out and about or home, cooking up a storm. As a family we enjoy travelling and always wish we could do more of it! One of our family faves is to explore theatre, jazz and opera. The girls energize us with their music, both of them play the piano (jazz and classics), and between them also guitar, violin and the saxophone. There is even a request to learn the drums??? We love singing and often string a tune together, harmonising in a trio. It’s fun even when it does not work!! Fun Fact: I am crazy about criminal psychology and watch creepy crime movies to recharge!!
