International Students

Please email international@riverina.school.nz to request an information pack for International Students

At Riverina School we have dedicated staff to care for our international students. These responsibilities are overseen by the Principal, Deputy Principal and the ESOL teacher. An orientation programme on arrival helps students to quickly settle into school life. The social and academic progress of each student is monitored carefully to ensure students are working to their potential and are happy at school and at home.

We offer opportunities to individual and group students, aged 5 to 11 years of age, to enrol for studying on a short-term basis from one week, up to their full six years of primary education.

Please read through the attached brochure below for any additional information.

Code of Practice: When students come to study in New Zealand, education providers have an important responsibility to ensure that those students are well informed, safe and properly cared for.

To support this, the New Zealand government has developed the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, which was amended in 2021.

Riverina School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. A copy of the code of practice for the pastoral care of international students is available in a range of languages here:

International Learners

Our school hosts international learners and is a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code).

  • supporting learners in a new cultural environment
