International Students
At Riverina School we have dedicated staff to care for our international students. These responsibilities are overseen by the Principal, Deputy Principal and the ESOL teacher. An orientation programme on arrival helps students to quickly settle into school life. The social and academic progress of each student is monitored carefully to ensure students are working to their potential and are happy at school and at home.
We offer opportunities to individual and group students, aged 5 to 11 years of age, to enrol for studying on a short-term basis from one week, up to their full six years of primary education.

Code of Practice: When students come to study in New Zealand, education providers have an important responsibility to ensure that those students are well informed, safe and properly cared for.
To support this, the New Zealand government has developed the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, which was amended in 2021.
Riverina School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. A copy of the code of practice for the pastoral care of international students is available in a range of languages here:
International Learners
Our school hosts international learners and is a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code).
As a signatory to the Code, we have clear practices to support the wellbeing and safety of our international learners. The pastoral care we provide includes:
supporting learners in a new cultural environment
identifying and addressing the needs of learners
supporting international learners to achieve their educational goals.
The Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Learners
In accordance with the Code of Practice, Riverina School:
maintains high professional standards
recruits/informs and enrols international learners ethically and responsibly (Part 7, Outcomes 13–16)
ensures that learners are offered appropriate orientation (Part 7, Outcome 17)
provides a safe study environment and wellbeing support, and ensures, as far as practicable, that learners are in safe accommodation (Part 7, Outcome 18)
provides learners with relevant information and advice to support their educational outcomes (Part 7, Outcome 19)
manages withdrawal and closure ethically and responsibly (Part 7, Outcome 20)
has fair and equitable processes for addressing concerns and complaints (Part 7, Outcomes 21 and 22).
Tuition
Including GST and the New Zealand Ministry of Education Levy, the tuition fee is NZ $8,00 per year including GST, or NZ $2,00 including GST per term.
This does not include a NZ$200 administration fee. All students pay for their own stationery and school trips. They must have medical insurance and a uniform which costs approximately NZ$250.
Should you be submitting an application to NZ immigration for permanent residency, it is recommended that fees be paid term by term, or per semester.
All international students attending Riverina School must have current medical insurance.
